Sculptural Art
Many of these works are the product of 3D Studio, an art class that provides an introduction to working in various 3D mediums including wood, metal, plaster, fabric, paper, and plastic.
Both parts of this wood carving rotate when one is turned. I made this piece as a response to the often stated separation between heart and mind. Although these are separate items, one cannot move without influencing the other.

This metal sculpture was created out of a sheet of steel and a smaller sheet of copper. By shearing and welding the steel, as well as shaping, annealing, and cutting the copper, I created "Pet" to hang inside the dynamic frame of the "cage".

The Transcendent Box is made out of fabric and styrofoam, and is an interactive artwork that puts the viewer in a state of sensory depravation. The inside of the sleeves has an super-soft lining, and the inside of the box is all white with an attached strobe light and headphones that play binaural beats. The user closes their eyes and becomes lost in the visual and 10-minute aural experience, experiencing products from their own mind and possibly sensory illusions.

This wearable paper-and-cloth sculpture was made with the theme "tough", which is a word that is not typically associated with fabric and fragile paper art. The piece is indeed tough - it makes the user look tough, as well as it being able to withstand the full force of pulling on the leash.

This steel chair puts users at such close proximity to each other that they are compelled to interact with each other. It was created by shaping and welding steel rods, and finally painting it with a lively shade of blue.

This chair forces two people to sit next to each other unconventionally, giving each person a different perspective of the view ahead and the other person. The result could be awkward, intimate, or something else. The flexible back makes it possible for the two people to lean back and look at each other directly, or bounce playfully. I hope this chair challenges the relationships people have with each other, while giving people a different sense of their relationship to the environment.
